What is Prenatal yoga?
Prenatal yoga uses the tools of yoga, such as asana, pranayama, sounds and mantras, mudras, visualization, relaxation and meditation, in order to offer safe, creative and effective prenatal yoga sequences to serve women at any stage of their pregnancy and beyond.
Pregnant women undergo physiological changes that affect physical and psychological functioning throughout gestation, labor, and delivery.
This means adapting and modifying postures to meet the changing needs of pregnancy. It also adopts a holistic approach and finds ways to apply Yogic Philosophy to the Western birthing culture. Therefore, in addition to helping to relieve some of the common discomforts of pregnancy, it can help with pain management during labor, as well as recovery after birth.
